Founded by makeup expert Daniela Koch, and based in Chevy Chase, MD, About Face Cosmetics offers a variety of products that are personalized to every individual skin type, tone, and color. Why does an Ophthalmology office offer cosmetics?
At Eye Doctors of Washington, our ophthalmologists and optometrists spend some of each day trying to decide which glasses best suit their patients’ eyes and faces. Our makeup artist and skincare specialist spends her day guiding those patients with color choices that best suit their skin tones. She also assists contact wearers in understanding the precautions needed when applying makeup and the different ingredients that could affect their wear. Why Mineral?
Mineral powder is made from micronized minerals that allow your skin to breathe so your pores won’t get clogged. Mineral powders are lightweight, crease resistant, and long lasting so you’ll look and feel naturally beautiful all day long. Mineral powder is talc free, non-irritating, oil free, anti-inflammatory, and it has an extremely low allergy risk. In other words, just about everyone can use the About Face products without worry. All of our products have a silky texture, unlike competitor’s products, which may be dry to the touch or drag on the skin. Powders can be added to crème complex to create tinted moisturizer.
